#37 A case of a cone rolling up the slope!

Have you seen the trick where a double cone rolled up a slope? Magical isn't it?

Check this out = > Rolling Cone

But this is not what I wanted to say!

A colleague was lamenting how his salary seemed to take a cut despite having doubled over the last 10 years of working.

I was like "duh"; what are you trying to say?????

So he explained and I listened.

He started with a salary of $2000 about 10 years ago and today his salary is in the region of $4000. So I told him, isn't that good? And to my surprise he said a big NO!

Well, being polite I decided to keep my silence instead of asking why and this proved a good move as he continued on with a rather agitated tone.

He ranted on about the price of good which have gone way above double the rates 10 years back.

So it's like having a pay adjustments all this while and not a pay rise and in most cases it is a pay cut.

So I likened his predicament to (I believe it is my predicament too) a double cone going up the slope where in fact it is actually going down a slope albeit at a very fast rate.

Now that is a frightening thought to say the least!
